Hi all
Just wondered if there are many of you that hire 3.5t boxes for the day/a few days & drive them yourselves?
If so how often and how much do you pay?
Just wondering if there is much demand for this?
Thanks for taking the time to reply!

Yep can't at the moment justify the cost of buying my own so rent one for £90 a day. My rental horsebox website will give you more of an idea of prices around the country.

Yep - I've tried a couple of different companies, and my favourite is self-drive. With driven lorries, I've had unhelpful and/or late drivers, whereas if you're driving, once you've picked it up, you can please yourself :)

I hired one for a 4 day trip to a friend's, and worried about the driving, but the box drove like a dream and my lad travels well, so will be hiring that one again. The only thing that puts me off is how expensive it is! I know there is insurance etc to cover, but £90 is still pretty steep!

If I just want to go to something quickish rather than a whole day away, I tend to use a local chap that drives his 7.5t, and only charges mileage and a bacon sandwich as it works out about half the price!

I've been ummming and arrgghhing over buying a 4x4 and trailer or hiring a lorry, cheapest in my area to hire ( using myrentalhorsebox ) is £100 a day
