rode my welsh cob tonight, we have been having problems with right canter, took him into school and he was very fresh having had 3 days off, started with some nice lateral spooks
sat those
then he tried to run off due to a sheep next to the school....fine got him back and listening, had a lovely right canter on the right lead straight away!! then cantered on the other rein, getting better and more collected now rather than motorbiking! popped a couple of poles, then put him away!!
then rode a friends lovely pony, quiet little chap and happy to please, did feel funny after the welsh cob who is like sitting on your favourite sofa
had some lovely canter work, so nice to ride a pony that just does what you ask when you ask!! then did some poles, did two jumps, on thge 3rd jump, i managed to fall off!! i think we jumped and i asked him to stop as with both of my cobs i have to take a little check after to prevent them bowling on too fast, this little man though i wanted him to stop!!! it was soo quick no-one noticed
over jump, roll off and get back on within 30 secs!! popped it again no probs!!
i really must have some jumping lessons!!
