Self indulgent

had a brilliant time yesterday, riding round the 400acres at our livery yard , with a friend. No cars or people with dogs etc, just us and the wildlife. We cantered on the flat stuble field, played in the brook, walked round the fields used for making hay and watched the combines in the field. Both horses were really good. The joys of having a horse.

Now it's my turn to be self indulgent. I had a great time after work yesterday too. I rode one of my boys in the "home" paddock for 20 minutes at walk and trot.

Might not sound much - but when you've just spent 7 weeks in plaster with a broken leg - and only had the cast removed 1 week ago today - then it's absolutely Bl**dy fantastic to just sit on a horse again! And 20 minutes riding was more than I dared hope for!

Faro, i bet its felt a long 7 weeks. I get down if i can't ride when i want to. Well done for riding for 20 mins, i bet your leg ached a bit after.

Sounds lovely, I used to like going over there for a ride, although I did fall off once!!
