feeling abit sorry for myself as ive broke my middle finger and cant ride for 2 weeks, im very tempted to do so! but it can damage your finger forever if you work it to hard apparently, so harmony is going to have a 2 week break, cant wait to get back into my saddle.
went from riding everynight to not at all, i dont know what to do with myself!

Awwww you poor thing! I would advise that you stay well away from the saddle - I broke a bone in my hand once, and they advised that I shouldnt ride for 10 weeks......needless to say I tried to ride at 3 weeks, and buggered it completely

I now have a very big lump on my hand, which gives me hell whenever it's about to rain outside! It is soooo hard not to give in to temptation, but try and sit tight!

PS. Your post has brought back memories of when I tried, the day after I broke my hand, to muck out; my right hand was in a cast, so I was balancing the pitchfork under my armpit and using my ribs to push it forward! Oh, and crying my eyes out in frustration at the same time, LOL!

Can't you hack out with the reins in one hand? Or lunge one handed? Or even go walkies in hand?

Dont do it a friend of mine broke her arm continued riding and will have to have it rebroken to reset. Can I have your horse mine is always broken and Im having withdrawal symptoms.

don't ride, I broke and dislocated my finger last year and had it in a splint and was told not to ride for 6 weeks, but I did and the finger then had to be rebroken and reset and it's never been the same since.

I broke my hand coming off a pony years ago. It swelled up so much I had to wait in hospital for a week before they could operate. I rode the day after I came out with hand pinned and in plaster, and every day after that. It depends on your horse. Can you steer it with one hand and how likely is it to chuck you? Besides its only a finger, you've got 7 more and thumbs!!!
