I am so so so dissapointed in my yard this festive period - not the yard owner or manager by the way but the other liveries:-

1. Horse on grass livery - i shamed owner into taking hay into the field for the poor little mite - i had hayed it the night before - Christmas eve - i did not even know it existed until i caught a girls horse in whom was stuck at home with a flat battery and this poor thing shot out the gate and stared trying to eat a twig - apparantly its been out in all this snow and ice for 7 days and when i caught her on boxing day i did tell her at thing or two - all she said was she was "thinking about taking it some hay !" - i could wack her one
2. Some liveries hiding the yards tools so they could have a shaving fork or brush to use on the days they did their own pony
3. Water butts being "stolen" after folks like me had spent the day before filling them up
4. Hay being "stolen" from peoples round bales
5. More hay thrown onto the muck heap than was eaten by folks who have no idea what their horse eats, and "objected" strongly to the "tiny" amount poor "duchess" was left by the scrouge of a yard manager - I was even more upset as the poor little mite in the field would have given his high teeth to get some of this
6. One familly managing to use 3 wheelbarrows to do 2 horses - 1 for clean straw, left filled all the time they were pratting about, one being used to muck out with - that was filled with muck and then we had to wait for them to turn out the horses and eventually empty the wheelbarrow, the 3rd was - wait for it- used to put hay into - so it could then be put into haynets "WTF" ! - two hours for three wheelbarrows -

anyone else had one of these weeks?
I would not be a yard manager for all the tea in china or india -

eee nice liveries!!!

tbh we have no issues at all on our yard, yard owner wouldnt stand for point 1, so points 2-6 wouldnt even exist...

think your YO/Manager should have a word to some :(

gosh sounds like a bad time :(

nothing as serious i probally sound pathfetic but someone broke my broom and just left it and ran away.. yes its just a broom it was only a tenner but i would like someone to say 'sorry i broke it' im not going to make them buy another, just polite.... :p

This is why I left livery yards.

Last one I was at all my stuff (brushes, mane & tail conditioner, hoof picks etc) kept going missing.

People would muck out then leave wheelbarrow full of muck in their stable

No one would do up gates behind them so electric fence never worked.

Plus loads of other stuff. Either ignore it and live i your own little world or speak up!.

Horses not being fed is wrong - try calling BHS welfare and they will make an annonymous visit. Could be whats needed to make owners realise some horses do need feeding.

Not knowing anything about keeping a horse on a yard like that, but, should'nt the yard owner/ manager know if the pony had'nt been fed for seven days???

Aww i feel sorry for the poor critter in the field with no food!!
This may be a weird question but does everyone not have there own mucking out equipment DIY'ers that is?! I lock mine up so it doesnt go walkies lol The things that drive me made are; people taking my stuff out of my locker without asking, people letting there horse knock over my horses breakfast hard feed bucket (this drives me mad!), people leaving a full wheelbarrow of poo in the middle of the isle for 24hrs, people not brushing!
