Sell or Keep Trailer Dilemma

After losing my horse last year my trailer has been sat at home. It’s no bother where it is but I wonder perhaps I should let it go as I’ve not been in the financial or mental position to commit to looking for another four legged friend. I might scroll through the classifieds every now and then but even horses who are “my type” don’t make me even consider picking up the phone which makes me think it will be a good couple more years before it gets regular use again, and I worry the lack of use now will only deteriorate it’s condition. It’s a 2011 506 in excellent condition with yearly servicing, equally am I likely to find anything as nice in a couple of years when I do start looking to buy again?
 
It will deteriate if it's outside probably not if stored in a barn or such like but personally I would sell. I am looking for a trailer ATM and they do seem to be selling well.
 
I've just sold my Rice Beaufort on Marketplace as it hasn't been used for a horse for nearly four years - but was used to move furniture and store a dismantled conservatory for three of those years! I got far more than I paid for it but TBF, we had looked after it well. Now, of course, I'm back in the market for a yearling of some sort but will have to pay someone to collect it - just typical. You always find a use for something you got rid of recently! If you can store it undercover and give it a trip out every now and then, then I'd say keep it especially if you don't need that money because it will be a lot dearer to buy another later on.
 
If you think you'll use the trailer again in the future I think I'd be tempted to keep it.

I've just decided to sell my trailer and my towing vehicle. My horse is now 21 and we are limited to light hacking so the trailer isn't being used and I don't plan on buying another horse. Trailer insurance is due again in a few weeks and I pay £20 a month to keep it at the yard. I called a dealer who told me they don't buy many trailers these days as people sell them easily on ebay.

You can get covers for trailers, we had one tailor made by a company in Bradford. That means you don't have to get it undercover. We cover ours in winter if we know it's not going to be used for a while. Otherwise, if we are away in holiday say, I just take it for a run of a few miles every so often.
 
It's a hard one. Depends on whether you do think you'll get another horse 'soon' and whether you'll want to be taking it out.

Think I'd sell, prices have been stable for a while now so you can always buy another for a similar price.
 
I have a 2013 506 which I had been thinking of selling. My trailer maintenance man who looks after it all the time said it would be worth £5000 if sold to a trailer dealer but more privately. In the end I decided to keep it after horse had an accident and I needed to get him to horspital in a hurry. In your circumstances I would sell as although the newer ones look nice they are an astronomical price and the 506 is basically the same without all the blingy bits.

Is it easy enough to put them on single handed? My trailer is usually used every other week through the winter but I'm not sure I will be able to this winter so have thought covering it might be a good plan (I will still take it for a spin once a month to keep everything moving and the tyres ok).

They are ok as long as its not windy!! When I bought my current trailer I asked the dealer about covering it and he said not to bother. The covers are ok but it depends on the weather as to how easy it is to get on. When it's raining its not much fun either!!
