Hi there,

I have a selle francais mare who I hope to breed from in the future and hope that someone reading this may have some suggestions regarding a stallion. She is Bolero de Brecey x Laudanum. She is quite an event type with decent conformation, her temperment is good but prone to anxiety. I had been thinking of Alligator Fontaine as he is fully approved in the studbook here in Ireland but have only seen one live offspring of his here. Would love to hear any comments.

Please check out my SF stallion Desir du Chateau. We have not presented him to the Irish Horse Board but his progeny born in Ireland can compete in the RDS 3-, 4-, 5,- and 6-year-old jumping classes. His foals can be registered Selle Francais, Belgian Warmblood, AES, and Zangersheide. He is 68% TB and Anglo-Arab. He has a world-class damline, is by Quidam de Revel, has already produced international jumpers and some eventers, and has super semen. We have 6 foals you can see. Bloodlines can be found here
http://www.morningside-stud.com/2008Foals.html

Although not a SF, also check out Condios and Wang Chung M2S.

Condios is a Holsteiner that has already produced two international eventers and one international jumper. He has also produced the 4-year-old National Champion Showjumper and Balmoral National Champion Showjumper and the Future Event Horse League Vice-Champion. He is approved by the IHB and 11 other studbooks.

Wang Chung M2S is a KWPN-registered stallion bred by Morningside Stud. He was approved by the AES as a 4-year-old and approved by the Irish Horse Board this year as a 5-year-old. He is the 2008 Zwolle International Show "Future Stallion" Champion and has qualified for the Dutch 5-year-old championship this year with 6 times as many points as is needed to qualify. He is a real "blood" horse in phenotype and athletic expression and is about 50% TB.

To stick to the request of the poster...........................

Alligator is a beautiful stallion, and proven both in the sport and in breeding. The semen is already in Ireland and is super quality.

Jaguar Mail would be interesting, you'd have Laudanum 3 twice in third generation. Again the semen is in the country, and in the UK, he has been the most popoular foreign stallions by a mile.

Send me your contact to info@frenchstallions.org and I'll get you a dvd.

I thought we were not meant to use this board to promote our stallions? I have a nice stallion by Tlaloc M (Dollar de la Pierre) who is Quidam de Revel. His dam's side are dressage horses. I am hoping to find a suitable mare to put in foal to him. So I have the opposite problem to you at the moment!!

Jaguar Mail looks a bit sharp but he is undoubtably a quality horse and really speaks for himself. There is so much choice out there it is a minefield!!

Hope you find the right stallion for your mare.

Ladyfresha, the official line from the moderator is that when somebody asks for stallion suggestions it's open season. Particularly when someone asks a question about a stallion that I or any other agent looks after.

The line is stepped over when stallions are suggested which are a million miles from what the OP asked for.

True. Helpful advice rather than trying to encourage someone to use a certain stallion.

I was only stating what I thought, that is after all what message boards are about.
