Hi!

I need to sell my horsebox, 6.6t, older box. I'm wondering whether horsequest/ HH will be too upmarket? It's a great sound lorry with full 12 months plate, but it is a cheaper lorry and they all seem to be for mega luxury expensive ones!

Where's best for a PC/ hunting/ starter lorry type instead? Horsemart seems to have a few cheaper ones- I just don't wanti to pay to advertise it somewhere that your average customer is a different bracket!

My 25 year old 6.5 ton lorry sold recently; the interest came via ads in local tack shops, feed merchants, hunt newsletter, local pony club and local riding club noticeboards. I also told all my horsey clients and word of mouth was quite powerful.

I didn't bother with any of the internet sites although ebay was going to be a possibility if he hadn't sold by the time new lorry arrived.

Good luck.

Well its funny you should ask... I put my 6.5 tonner on Horsequest, Horse and Hound and Horsemart on Monday, and also plastered it all over Facebook pages e.g. riding club ones etc...

The most expensive was Horsequest, £40 ish for one pic, then H&h £20 (5 pics), and then Horsemart (5 pics) £14.99.

I had the most response thru Horsequest, 19 in total requests for pics etc , 4 thru Horsemart and none thru H&H (sorry).

I sold it today, for the asking price to someone who saw it on Facebook!!!

Depending on your budget for advertising I would do all 3, when I was looking I looked on all those, and Horse Deals, every night!

Thanks guys!!

Well done both of you- Coop, if you get any more interest would you send them my way?! lol

Will do!! I have had 3 more answerphone messages today....let me know when you advertise! In total I had 7 people wanting to come including a lady from the Isle of Wight. The 6.5 tonne lorries are definitely very sought after. One lady even got annoyed as she couldn't come straight away as I was working!!

Preloved is also good if your looking for a box and its free, or maybe a fiver to be a member to advertise. x
