I have a four year old homebred unbroken 15 hands SHP gelding.

I have advertised him for sale locally and have had a problem with timewasters.

I intend to advertise him in H & H but wondered where else I should try advertising him.

I was also considering if he doesn't sell that I will have him broken and try again. I am too big to back him and although I could do the lunging and long reining I would prefer someone to do it all.

Does anyone have any recommendations for someone to break him in the NW and what is the going rate?

Where in the NW are you? My youngster has gone to Rob Gilsenan in Barthomley (near Crewe), Cheshire. She lives out while there and the going rate for backing is £75 per week with him. She's been away for 3 weeks now and when I went to see her on Friday she was looking really well, happy and settled.

He seems to think she'll be there another two weeks now before being ready to come home. He's a lovely, quiet rider.
