Selling a horse

I have decided to sell my horse. We're not the right combination and I know he would do far better with someone else. So my question is... Is it best to wait until the new year to try to sell him? Are people buying at the moment?
 
Judging by the posts on here, yes people are still buying, they are being specific about what they want and finding it hard to find the right one.
In answer to your question it is probably worth trying an ad but dont get too hung up about him going, if he doesnt sell be prepared to wait and try in the spring.
You need some good photos and a well worded ad on the appropriate site to attract potential buyers.
 
hi i just sold one i put him on horse deals heard nothing for a fortnight then had loads of interest and the first to ring bought him a few who rang had said ooo i had seen him a week ago but wish id rang then i think some people are holding out to get them at the best price they can
 
We sold our's at the weekend. Had a number of people desperate to see her & she's going to fab home for her asking price.
 
I think good and honest horses hold their prices there will always be a market for them. So if your horse is of the type that everyone wants, then he will sell.
There are, however, many horses with 'slight' issues on the market and these tend to be the ones that are sticking.
How would you describe yours?

He is a lovely horse but he can be spooky when hacked alone and is a forward going ride. Although he is a different horse for me than he is for my friend. I seem to heat him up and so he is very forward going but my friend gets a totally different response than me and although he is forward going for her he is a lot calmer. haha weird
