Selling a rug on e-bay

I've got a heavyweight Rambo Wug which belonged to my old horse. Its a size too small for my current horse but I used to be able to squeeze him into it in emergencies e.g. if his other rug got soaked. However we've been working on his muscles and when I tried it on yesterday it was too tight around the shoulders, so I was thinking I might as well sell it.

Its in really good condition, apart from needed a clean and a missing tail flap. I will have it cleaned before I sell it, but was wondering whether it would sell without the tail flap, or if I get the tail flap repaired I would get more money for it to cover the cost of the repair? Any thoughts?
I've never sold anything on e-bay before so any ideas of how much I should be asking for it would also be gratefully received!

I had a rug clear out in December and sold 6 on Ebay including a Rambo Wug that had sat in my garage covered in mud for 6 years! I didn't bother to get it cleaned, just listed it as muddy and smelly - possibly suitable for a rug ripper. Couldn't believe I got £55.00 for it. I didn't put any reserve on mine and started them at £0.99p. Can't advise you on what to ask for it, but I wouldn't bother spending a lot of money on it before you list it.

Rugs are going well at the minute in any condition, because it will be expensive to post bidders will look at that too though.

Worth doing even dirty rugs with rips sell, also as its a really good make you should be fine, one tip I would say get it cleaned before you take the photo.

Rambos sell well on ebay and some people prefer for them not to have been washed as then they know the waterproofing will not have been ruined.

Bear in mind that the postage will be little short of £9, so make sure you dont under charge for that (it may even be more if the rug is heavier than I am guessing)

If you can send the tail flap with the rug I dont think it will detract from the price too much.
