Sorry this is a rather numpty question, I have never sold a saddle before so how do you do it?
I am thinking about advertising it locally to me and perhaps on a handful of websites (Saddles direct/horsemart etc).
I just done have a clue how to go about the whole payment transaction of it, what method of payment should I accept? I am thinking I keep the saddle until I have recieved full payment? Also if I sell to someone who isn't local to me how would I go about packing it?

Any advice is gratefull as I clearly have no idea.

Thanks

Payment methods could be paypal, cheque, cash or postal order. Always wait until the payment has cleared.

As for sending it, get a large box and some news paper to pad it, then take it to the post office and some couriers to get some quotes.

Add the postage price to the final price (what the customer pays).

I very recently sold a saddle on ebay, got almost £300 over my start price which I was really happy with. I used paypal which is quite easy (even for a muppet with computers like me). I didn't send it until I got full, cleared payment.

To pack it I got a big cardboard box from the co-op, packed it in with bubble wrap, newspapers and a sheet, and put loads and loads of tape round it. I took it to the post office and sent it through parcelforce48 which was about £20, and then insured it up to £1000 which was £30.

Hope that helps

Oh BTW that postage cost is from Essex to Nottinghamshire.
