Hello all, I am a long time lurker and have found this forum helpful on many an occasion so thought I would finally join in!

I have a saddle I need to sell and am struggling to know where is best to advertise it. I have had it on a 'saddles for sale' Facebook page but only had one person speak to me who didn't want to risk buying over the internet unless the saddle was cheap. Obviously I do understand this somewhat but if you can't find what you want nearby this is a risk you have to take.

I expect to pay fair money (and did for this saddle last year while waiting to have one made for my horse) for a quality second hand saddle in decent condition but it seems people want something good for nothing at the moment. Having looked on eBay many saddles are not selling and I unfortunately don't have a trustworthy saddler near me who could buy it/sell it for me. Therefore any ideas are appreciated!

If it's a well known brand and not too old then I've found saddles direct very good. Sold my Albion through them and got as much as I would have expected privately but without the hassle.

For oldrr of less well known ones I've sold or brought through eBay and preloved and there are some advantages to being on a huge yard as I've sold one to another livery before too!

Everyone wants something for nothing that's just how it is, because they know it might not fit. Have you tried an advert on the notice board of your local feed store?

Thanks Shooting Star, will give them a try, mine is an Albion.

Sugar and spice - Thanks I will put an ad in there tomorrow, it doesn't get that much traffic but worth a go. I know people think that but saddle fitting is trial and error if you want second hand, you are very lucky if you don't lose much cash along the way!
