Selling a Synthetic Saddle

Hi guys, I need your advice.

I have a black synthetic Thorowgood Maxam saddle that I want to sell in order to help fund my new show saddle, but I don't know how best to go about it.

I was thinking of just putting it on ebay but I wondered firstly if there was a better way to sell it... better website? take it to a saddlery? and secondly, how much you think it'd sell for?

I bought it less than a year ago brand new for £150 and it was only used for about 6 months, so is in fab condition.

It's a 17" seat, 9" width from outside of panels, part mock suede.

Any advice appreciated.
 
unfortunately they dont seem to hold values well - ebay prob best bet really. or put sign up in local feed merchant or if you are a member of riding club that has website ask them to put on there?????
 
i hate selling saddles on ebay- it is a nightmare now. paypal withhold the money until positive feedback is given... and so buyers can really take the mickey.

also, if they forget to give feedback, you have to wait 21days for the money or something now. very annoying.

preloved is good for saddles. x
 
Unfortunately it's too cheap really and I don't think many saddlers would bother with it, though I may be wrong.

I would have a look on ebay and see what they are going for. The only website I know is www.saddledirect.co.uk and whilst I don't think the company itself will buy it from you, you can sell your own saddles on there so at least you will get good traffic on the site but then again it may cost alot more trying to sell on there with fee's compared to ebay.

I would recommend going to a local horsey car boot/table top sale if you can find one. Esp if theres something horsey on at the place too. Because the maxam saddle is cheap people will buy on the spot, and with more expensive stuff you can try it on the horse if they are competing there. I did this and sold 2 spare saddles in one day as well as loads of other stuff.
