selling a weaver

she constantly paces up and down the fence when out. made a trench in front of all the fields and holes in stable pavement. gonnsa buy a mirror to see if it helps. if this doesnt help i dont know what to do? would like to sell but who would buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My friend has an ex-racer that weaves really badly too :( He only weaves in the field when he sees his owner on the yard.

Does she have friends in the field or is she out alone? Just thinking that you could state she needs company.

Personally if I'm honest I wouldn't buy a weaver after seeing my friends fret.

personally, i wouldnt buy any horse if it had any vices, i just want a nice simple horse no problems, nothing that could cause problems etc

I did.
Not only does she weave but she also fence and box walks too. When she weaves she doesnt just weave her head and neck, she weaves her whole body too and swaps weight from 1 foreleg to the other and when she is really stressed and wound up she throws herself on the floor and rolls a lot. She will even weave tied up. She is much better now though that it is just the 2 of them and they live at home and now she only does it when I go to do them and she spots me. At 17 yrs old I am never going to change her ways and when she was on a yard that insisted she had a grill up she learnt how to adjust her position so she could still do it.

Lil is a weaver. I was told when I bought her that she just did it very occassionally at feed time which didn't bother me. Some nights the crazy beasts weaves loads, at other times not at all, she's particularly affected by the yard being busy. I wish she didn't weave but its not the end of the world. She's very happy out in the field, I've only once seen her weave in the field and that was when she was still settling in. Now you can take others in and out and she just carries on eating!

So my answer would be yes, a weaver in the stable doesn't bother me but I would want to know they were happy out in the field or vice versa. I wouldn't want a horse that wasn't happy in or out.
