My friend has had the worst year ever and now is selling her horse.
Cleo is a 16hh, 12 yrs, hanovarian mare. Has bred 3 foals in past.
She is Gyanors first horse, when I mean first I mean NEVER sat on a horse or looked after one before. She won some compenstaion and decided to buy a horse (dont start, I know)
The first day she had her, about 2hours after unloading her she decided to go for a hack, by herself (yes I know!)
a few months after this she had a serious op and was out the saddle for 4 months, when the doc gave her the all clear she went down tacked cleo up and went on a hack. Cleo was an angel even after 4 months of just eating.
anyway Cleo has taught Gaynor to ride, and she has just started to canter. not bad concidering she didnt even bother with lessons (no this isnt a mad night mare of how NOT to do things, its real life!)
When i ride Cleo, she comes down onto the bit, moves off from the leg, has lovely soft mouth, jumps lovely does XC, hack out nicley, good to show, box, catch etc only thing we dont know is clipping as we have never done this.
basicly a nice all round riding club type horse who is fat, unfit and not brilliantly schooled
question is a how much. thing is Cleo is a boomproof ideal 1st horse, and good riding club as well. however as previosly stated she is a bit poddy (coverts thin air into calories) and you couldnt go off and do a dressge test tomorrow, although Im amazed at how well schooled she still is after 18months of beginners riding her.
im thinking 3k ?
she is only for sale as gaynor is a single mum with 4 kids, and cant cope anymore.
