Just wondered what private sellers/breeders do with their smart dressage horses....Is it worth sending to a pro to sell? Mine has been a dream to back, such a lovely boy, but I lack a consistent 'proper dressage rider' to take him further and really produce. With his breeding, temperament and talent he's worth quite a bit, but selling him from my little scruffy yard with 'normal people' riding him (haha - eventers, low level dressage types) probably isn't going to help. Not sure whether it's best to try and get a pro in to ride him, or send him somewhere to sell - I'm in Kent, and there doesn't seem to be much down here that I'd really go for. A talented friend has ridden him a few times but is too busy with work to ride him consistently, and I'm wary of his age/stage and don't want him to fall behind.

Would be interested to hear what others do/have done? I'm usually fine selling mid-range all rounders and eventer types, but lucked out a bit with this chap and now not sure what to do with him!!
