If it is a scam it is a new one for me.

Anyone had one like this before? I've had the usual "we'll send you x amount and you give us change" type before.

Just got this:

i sent you the message for the horse.well as for what i saw in the picture, thats really the ideal type we ve always wanted.....My hubby and i have been searching for one on net but i couldnt get the exact one but i think this is really the one i ve always dreamt of. So is there any further arrangement we need to make? I would have love to do this in person or on mobile but its hard due to my disability{deaf}.my hubby is not in town at the moment.he ordered me to get this done before his arrival and he will be getting you the payment via check soon if only you agree on this.you can get back to me with your full information for the payment.I mean your name ,address, zip code, mobile number and the best price. I will write you when the payment has been sent.

Proceed with caution I think.

I have invited her to arrange a viewing but no response thus far.

Enfys isn't in this country. ;P

Slightly odd though. A deaf person rang up about a pony we had forsale though a translator person. Can't her out of town hubbie speak to you

I am in Canada, sorry, should have mentioned that.

Zip code DOES indicate the US though as we use Postal Code here, it isn't impossible to send a horse over the border as it isn't too far in a couple of directions, but I imagine this involves tests.

No, Mrs M, I don't sell my horses without actually seeing someone and getting a lot more info either

Glad it isn't just me that thinks it sounds a little iffy. The words 'best price' ring a bell. I always advertise as Price is Firm, ie, no haggling unless I really like you.

Rara, Hi, I shall suggest that to her, good thinking, Thanks

See where that gets us.

Scam. By the way your forum name Enfys means rainbow in Welsh and is my Mums name!

Oh, I had never heard of it used as a name before! I love Welsh names, so pretty.

Yes, I chose it because when I registered I lived near Swansea and had a rosette business unimaginatively called Reinbows.

Hmmmm, odder and odder, usually scammers go away after you mention "I have to be cautious there are so many scams around these days" I asked several questions re location, viewing, collection etc, etc, etc. No direct answer other than this:

[thanks for getting back to me..i wouldnt be able to make it down there.if you think check form is not okay,no problem but its fine by you, then you can get back to me with the necessary information for quick payment]

Horsey stays at home unless they want to visit I think, plenty more pebbles on the beach.

Ive heard of this scam, you give them a price say for example £500 and they send you a chq for £1500 and tell you to arrange transport etc and pay it out of the money they have sent and return the left over to them. They hope you will do this quick before there original chq bounces and with a bit of luck they will have roughly a grand plus your pony!!

The ned will stay here, no hurry to sell, the right one will come along. I am selling the lot of them

so I'll probably get more scams for them too.

Told her that I didn't think it was meant to be and that we would leave it at that.

I didn't want to be rude just incase she really was (ha ha) geunine.
