I am just about to list my old horsebox on ebay.
Is there anything i should know!
I know they have messed around with paypal and if you are selling saddles with withholding funds etc. I also know now you are not allowed to put cash on collection on either.
But is there anything else i should know?

I have written my description on word and its 3 pages long! not sure if its good or not to write so much?

I've also asked for a deposit (non refundable) within 24 hours of winning via paypal.

Is there anything else you can think of that i should/should not do!?

I've never sold anything of such value on ebay before so want to make sure its right! I am starting it off quite high as i figure i only need 1 bidder who wants it then and i am happy?

I would keep the discription short and to the point and one picture is worth a thousand words so take lots of good pictures... no not blurred ones with a mobile phone

!!! front, sides, back with the ramp down and up inside views, horse area and any damage inside or out ... and offer the chance to view it or send more pics, good luck

I would say lots of words and lots of photos - that way you cannot be 'charged back' later for 'not as described'. It also attracts more buyers as you have taken more care to list all the details.

Absolutely do not accept the full amount via Paypal - not just because of the fees, but again because of the possibility of a 'chargeback' if the buyer says they did not receive the item. Even a signed receipt will not satisfy Paypal - you have to have a delivery note signed - like recorded delivery - as if you are going to post it!!!

Ebay is good for selling things, you just have to keep your wits about you for the con artists out there - but it's not really as bad as many make it out to be - there are loads of successful transactions every day.

Make sure you check out 'completed sales' as well to see how much you can expect to get for it. Don't start too low, just incase for some reason you don't get many bidders - put a reserve on if you are concerned - however, I hate items that start low and have a reserve - I prefer the item to be listed at the minimum price the seller is prepared to accept.

Good luck selling your trailer hope you get a good price for it.
