Okay...ive never sold a horse before, but realised this morning as we had a little incident with the youngster...i really cannot be bothered being flung accross the field by a babyhorse...id like something i can ride and do something with.

so i need to sell her...not urgently as shes doing no harm sat in the field...Trouble is i have two.... and they both live out together...so to sell the youngster im stuck with one horse alone (Which isnt do-able). So ideally i was looking to swap my youngster for something older (cash from me)... but they type i want arnt wanting to swap with me (fair enough!)...so i need to sell my filly.

Is it possible/resonable to sell my filly with a deposit from a buyer and myself find something else asap (i am not fussy and i generally find a horse in a week  )....and then do same day sale/swaps??

or am i going to give myself a giant headache!? i cannot have three on the land, nor want 3! hence this situation....

filly isnt n a rush to go....but she isnt going to be big enough...

thanks :)

I think it is realistic to say to a buyer - 'ok well give me two weeks and then she can come to you'. I don't think anyone will have a problem with that but how do you manage to find a horse so quickly. Finding my mare took 6 months! Maybe because I am a novice rider so couldn't deal with quirks? Nonetheless you might not find one right way so livery for the other might be the way to go.

im also not willing to move lol!

i could push come to shove move my youngster to a different yard to sell her (a field i know of not actually a yard)

my older mare isnt moving - shes incredibly happy where she is... as am i! :)

Have you not got a friend with a small pony you could borrow to keep with your one on its own till you find another? Ive lent mine out a couple of times for this exact reason & would be happy to do it again.

good idea i hadnt thought of that. could look into a short term loan?

im not in a rush to sell her but tbh she has to go as shes too small due to the fact shes not stocky at all lol! :D

i will put her up for sale and see what responce i get (if any)!
