My mare had her vet check this week and we found out that she might not recover enough to be ridden. After nearly a year of rehab I was hoping to get the green light for putting her back into work, and I am feeling rather crushed and confused at the moment. She is a very well bred WB and I always hoped to breed from her myself one day, but I was hoping to ride her for many years first. So I am wondering whether to sell.
I am not even sure that selling/loaning is an option in the current market, so I wanted to ask you:
What do you think my chances are for finding her a kind, experienced home as a broodmare, either on loan or sale?
She is an unproven, 15.2h 5 yo maiden. She had a bad kick in the field as a 4yo which is why I am considering retiring her as a broodmare, apart from that she has not had any health issues. She is a pink papered British bred warmblood, good confirmation, bred for SJ.
