Selling Pony Advice

I'm selling my pony at the moment and was wondering what advice people could give me. It's a time-pressed matter (ideally need him gone before the end of September) and I'm wondering what else I can do to get the process moving. I've currently advertised him on horsemart, preloved, my local horses for sale Facebook page, and my local agricultural sale Facebook page. I've only had three responses and he was not suitable for any of them. I also contacted a riding school that advertised wanting broken and unbroken ponies but they stopped responding. I'm at a loss and starting to worry what will happen if I can't sell him in time! I'd hate to have to send him to a dealer as I don't personally know of any reputable ones, plus it appears that for some reason he is highly undesirable which I don't understand as he's a lovely looking pony with a heart of gold!

For the record he is an unbroken 11hh Welsh A gelding which I am advertising with full honesty both in my adverts and in my responses to people's enquiries.
 
Unfortunately there is very little market for unbroken small ponies and even a dealer is unlikely to be interested in reality as they will be in the same position as you with an unbroken small pony with no real market value until it has been started and got miles on the clock which will cost more than they stand to get.
As you have a bit longer and depending on finances could you at least get him started so he has more of a chance of finding a decent home, horse gossip may be worth a try as they are showing orientated and as a welsh a he may attract some interest as a show prospect, also consider loaning to a showing home as some miles on the clock will add to his desirability and he could be sold on at a later date.

I can usually make a few more suggestions but really struggle to know how to "sell" this type of pony as the market is so limited.
 
Thanks. Yeah unfortunately that's very true. He's been bitted, worn tack, and lunges well but due to pregnancy I am unable to back him so he stands unbroken for now. I bought him as a companion but my mare hates him and I can't have both pieces of land from now on so he needs to go... I'm so frustrated and sad!
 
How old is he?

I think I've found your ad on horsemart. Little grey chap? Do you have any photos of him with tack on, or any other photos you could ad to the advert?

He's 7 this year (only says 2010 in his passport). Yes that's him! I do have other pictures of him but none of him wearing tack. His old owner might do though as she had some on him too.

I found him and think with your honest ad that you really will struggle to sell, loaning as a companion may be the best option or much as I hate to say it consider pts rather than passing him on to what is very likely to be an uncertain future, he is sweet looking but nothing particularly special and at his age with his description he really will find it hard to do a job other than as a companion as very few people will be prepared to put in the work to break him when there are so many ponies that are not nervous they can turn into a pony for their child in half the time for less risk and not much more money.

Horses4homes may be worth looking at, the other one charges potential buyers so I suspect you would have little interest but it may be worth trying if it doesn't cost you anything.

A photo without the headcollar may help as it looks as if he is difficult to catch, which he may be but there is no need to make it so obvious, one of him held stood up square so you can see all of him would be better.
 
Have you considered offering him for driving? He doesn't sound like the type that will quickly become a solid kids pony. He will need some actual confo shots though if he is going to go to a working home.
