Selling Pony - Where to Advertise?

DISCLAIMER: Not a 'how much'/blatent advertising thread!!! I'm looking for suitable suggestions as to where to advertise a pony :D

Current Situation
I'm currently attempting to sell a pony. He's been on Horsemart for two weeks now, Preloved, Freeads and up in a couple of tackshops etc. We've had no interest so far. I've dropped the price a couple of times as we need to sell soon.

The Pony
13.3 15yo gelding. Cracking jumper but nobody's fool on the ground - give him an inch and he will take advantage so ideally looking for a competent PC home for him or small competitive adult. He had a year at a riding school and got sour and then was with some people who weren't particularly confident handling him so he did take the proverbial but we've been working with him and he has improved no end and I really want a decent home willing to work consistently with him. He's been to a couple of events this month and placed so ready to go out competing.

The problem
I need the phone to ring!

So, my question to the lovely people of HHO: where have you had success advertising? I don't want to spend a fortune on lots of sites but he needs to find a new owner soon!
 
I think it depends on how you advertise him...

If it reads anything like your description up top, no one will phone. We loaned a cob just like that (only younger) for a 11yo girl to compete- she was tiny, but competent and we were desperate!

I advertise on the PC website, horsemart and maybe horsequest. And I'd say:

"Lovely 13.3hh cob for loan. 15 years old, with lots of experience doing all PC activities, with multiple placings this year already. Good to handle, etc. Perfect second pony for a keen young rider or small adult to have lots of fun with, ready to go out and continue his competition success. Only for loan due to age, although sale may be considered to perfect home."

People will phone that way, and then you can weed them out...

I know where you're coming from - the ad doesn't read like that ;) :D I just wanted to paint the picture of what we are actually selling to get views on where's best.

I sold a similar pony about 2 years ago through preloved. I advertised her as a loan with view to buy as I wanted to ensure it was the right home as she was a bit of a moose on the ground if you gave her the opportunity but a super pony club pony when on her back! I had quite a few enquries and eventually found some people who sounded suitable, they had her on 3 months loan/trial and within a fortnight wanted to buy her.
 
Found it:) Decent photos but the wording is a bit nondescript it does not really sell him, no mention of hacking, traffic, catching, has he a nice nature generally.
If he is a good comp pony make more of it, which PC he was with, has he done camp, is he a real jumping schoolmaster, there is so much missing and he is not expensive, if you get the ad right he should go quickly, even with issues.

I'll review and amend in line with comments. He is generally a nice lad - has had a rough time at some point I think as can be a bit 'defensive' until you work with him and he learns to trust and to understand boundaries. I don't have any issues with him - dealt with far, far worse but I know that he did scare the previous girl he was with. He doesn't like fuss and they insisted on doing lots of it!

Not sure which PC he was with - think one in Derbyshire as it was a couple of owners previous. He is cracking to a jump as I think the pictures show and will go off any stride so a schoolmaster in that respect but needs a rider who will push him forwards as he will happily pop 1m from trot - but once he's going he can move and is nippy.

Do you think Horsemart is the best place or shall I try somewhere else? Ad due to expire in a fortnight.....

Cazzah did say he wasn't great to handle though. The rest of the add was good but i wouldn't tell fibs either. It's a waste of everyones time
 
I would tweak the ad if no interest try the PC site, he is cheap for there but should get you some response if you word it in a positive way, the handling issues can be best explained when people phone, make more of his honest way of jumping.
 
I've tweaked the ad on Horsemart. We'll see what this week brings - hopefully the phone ringing off the hook - he deserves a fab home and to be out having fun :)
