I have a pony for sale. Had a buyer for him, transport arranged (by me as I found a cheaper quote my end for them) and they’ve changed their mind. They don’t have the money apparently. So frustrating that people waste time like that

Just needed to vent - awful time of year to sell and I’m really keen to find his new home as doing 3 is exhausting me 😭

Oh goodness I’m so sorry! Hope you’ve kept their deposit!
 
How annoying. Some people just dont care.
I had someone who wanted to buy one of mine when he was for sale. She said she loved him so much after one ride and that she wanted to offer him a forever home but could she have him on trial for two weeks first!!!

What do you have? I have a friend looking for your everyday nice all round type if it fits that bill!
 
He’s a 3yo pony gelding. I’ve had him since a weanling and he just hasn’t grown big enough for me - he is 13.2 now so I think he will be 13.3/14hh at maturity. He’s an absolute poppet, but I’m just too big to back him I think

Advertise widely and often. If using Facebook it’s best to cycle through the groups you are using, posting in something different every few days to keep your ad current and in people’s feeds. If not, what about Whickr or NFED? I had a quick search on Fb and can’t find an ad for a pony matching pics and specs above. A general Google search for 13.2hh and Appaloosa found your ad on one official site, but I have to admit it’s not one I would usually check.

The more people you reach, the more choice of buyer you have, so you can find the right one.

You can’t.

Groups or pages that do advertise animals are at risk of getting pulled and people can get banned. Just because people do, doesn’t mean it’s allowed.

The model horse sales page runs into issues fairly frequently because the AI is useless and it detects horse and prices and starts taking down posts!

Couple of things that you probably already thought of!

Have you looked through "wanted" ads? I find that at least eliminates the total tire kickers & joy riders.

Have you got as far as putting tack on him & got pictures of long reining and of him out and about experiencing the world?

There are a vast, vast array of groups. No money is mentioned, you’re just telling people about your wonderful pony. People message you to ask for price. Join some and see what other people write, read the rules. All my outgrown ponies found new homes this way. Yes, you have to weed out the unsuitable replies, but it reaches a wide audience.

Breed specific (Appaloosa?)
Price (under 5k or 3k or whatever)
Stage of training (project horses, youngstock etc)
Location (Horses for sale in _____)

Looking in the groups for wanted ads works too.
