Morning all,

Now this is not an advert for the saddle, its advice that I need.. (So to make it clear this is why i am putting minimal detail about the saddle on here

)

We are having to sell my sisters saddle (bit of along story so bear with me). Basically we got her youngsters(4 at the time first saddle with an adjsustable tree, this was brand new and it later turned out after 6 months of problems with physio and adjustments, that the tree was in fact cracked, and causing her much pain. (On top of the sacrliac injury that she had, you may have seen Inders posts about such issues) so that was sent back to the manufaturers and another new saddle was purchased. She has not got on with this saddle as she has changed shape so much having been out of work and come in and muscled up more evenly due to the other saddle masking some issues.
Anyway enough of the back ground. The saddle in question is a Barnsby 17.5 and cost £900 6 months ago, it has had little use and is in such excellant condition! But do you think we can sell it! It has been on ebay 5 times, loads of watchers and no buyers.

We need to get at least £500 for it as i think it is well worth this, as well as it now having to fund her replacement saddle- a Strada, (It had better solve her problems) Its also been on H&H, local trade It, and not a call. Can anyone think of anywhere else to advertise it?

Bacon Sarnies and steaming mugs of tea for getting this far.xx

Our local saddler who we brought it from has stopped dealing in second hand, but as we know him well, he is keeping a ear out for anyone looking for one. Saddles direct offered a really silly amount.
I am wondering if the saddle market has died a death like horse and car sales, and no-one having any cash. But then on the other hand to pick up a second hand bargain is also what i thought poeple would be doing.

Oh what to do...

I feel your pain... I have five to sell (though can only find four of them...). One of them was made-to-measure for LL, but now he is fit, there's no chance of it fitting

Ho hum.

Think I'll hang onto mine until next year, though hubby may think differently!

Crikey Mrs Mozart, you could start your own saddlers with that many to sell?
Sorry to feel your pain too, but i have to say am feeling a bit smug now I dont have 5 to sell xx

I like to think of them as modern art... not sure hubby agrees though

I have four I need to sell really but I don't like to in case I ever need them again

My vet bill that is likely to pop through my letter box any day now could change that though

I am tentatively looking for a 17" wide jumping/GP in havana if anyone is selling one.
Also want to sell the Wow which I had to fight for on ebay 2 months ago and now nobody seems to be buying :-(
Contacted saddles direct to try and sell privately but they haven't come back to me.

Dizzy Kizzy, what sort of WOW are you selling?

I'm trying my friend's WOW tomorrow with a fitter to see if it is right for my mare but will only buy it from her if the price is right (not sure how realistic she will be about it pricewise) so may need to look elsewhere if she wants too much for it.

PM me if you'd prefer
