are there any websites that offer immediate cash/collection for your saddles?

I've got my mare's Albion in my locker, its a really nice saddle and its been regularly cleaned/covered up. sadly she won't be ridden again and I don't think there's any point in keeping it, just wondering if I can get a quick sale? I don't use social media so can't advertise there!

I've thought about chucking it on eBay but wary after reading some horror stories :S

Putting it on ebay at a bargain price is probably your best bet if you don't do Facebook, although if posting you then have to faff about finding a box, printing a label and taking to the post office (I always use a website called parcel monkey to book using parcel force but its a lot cheaper). Otherwise have you got a friend that can advertise it on FB for you, if its a really good price someone local is likely to buy it and pay cash!

I am not sure there is an answer to selling second hand saddles!

No, it's a nightmare. The internet bringing buyers and sellers together has made most people wholly unrealistic about pricing, and meant that there is very little margin for a saddle fitter to offer a thorough service where they check the saddle properly and fit it with a full service. We can often make mutiples of that amount of profit selling a new saddle that needs very little checking (normal QC) and is much easier to work on and when a saddle fitting can amount to 3-4 hours work plus travel (once everything is taken into account) you can see why fitters offer second hand fittings less and less.

Sorry, not quite a rant, but whatever it is, it's the end lol.

thanks everyone, will have a look at the suggestions :) I imagine I'd take a hit as although my saddle was flocked its not had a lot of use, plus the market etc

Why not contact your local saddler to see if they’d like to buy it?

We don't have one in this area. TAA is local to me. There used to be a great shop in town selling second hand saddles but nobody in this area does it now. Though you could try the place on Moss Lane TAA, they've got a roomful of second hand tack and clothes that is attracting browsers.

Personally I'd stick it on Preloved and insist on cash or PayPal Friends and Family only.

ah thank you! :) I will list it on there. I used to have John Hirrell come out and do reflocks/checks etc, found him efficient but difficult to get hold of to say the least!
