I am going to be selling my Samshield Shadowmatt hat but am not sure if people will want to take the risk with a second hand hat - would you?
I have had it checked by Samshield (free of charge, thank you Samshield) who have confirmed it is safe to use, so will obviously state this is the advert.
Also what price would you think it achievable.
I paid £211 and was going to ask £175 as its only been used about 6 times.
I'm just not sure if people buy hats secondhand and off the internet as I always go into a shop, and if so what prices they are prepared to pay,

I know I would never buy a second hand hat - if you have written evidence from Samshield, then you would definitely need to provide it. Even though you've only used it a few times, I think you'd also need to offer a hefty discount. Just my opinion though, someone more experienced with these expensive helmets may offer a totally different perspective :)

Nope, I'd never buy a second hand hat. Anyone can say it's been checked by the manufacturers so that wouldn't mean anything to me. (Not saying you've done that, but anyone could!)

IF I ever considered it I would expect to pay less than half the new price, I certainly wouldn't risk it for such a small % off new price :)

I possibly would buy a lightly used hat in this kind of circumstance, but as above would want a substantial reduction. Otherwise I'd prefer to buy new :)

I would never buy a second hand hat and if I would that's far Too small a reduction in price for something used .

Is the hat within the new rules, I have one and I can no longer wear it for competing BD?

I was quite cross as it was expensive and when the rules changed it was illegal. I also would not buy a second hand hat, especially for such a high price.

Another here who wouldn`t ever buy a second hand hat, regardless of it being checked. I`ll always buy new.

Yes it is, that's why I bought it. And I have a certificate from Samshield dated this month saying its okay and this can be confirmed with the saddlers who dealt with it for me. Having said that, I also wouldn't buy a second hand hat!! I'll knock more money off after a day or two then I think.
