Hello, I hope this isn't anything against the forum rules? Don't think it should be.....

Been told my current saddle doesn't fit so need to sell , saddler said it wasn't one that he would have much demand for. When buying a saddle, say off ebay, what sort of photos are looked for? And where are the correct places to measure a saddle too and from?

Thank you, like I said I don't want this to seem like advertising, just looking for help hence haven't said any specific details or anything just would appreciate advise thank you!

Definitely a reasonably close up shot of it on a rack to show it off, girth straps to show the condition they are in and possibly underside to show panels. State make, saddle size and width fitting and honest comments about its condition, marks on it etc. When I sold one some people like to know the straight measurement across front of pommel. Not surprised saddler wouldn't p-ex, had the same thing myself and yet I hear there is a big market for secondhand and I had no problem selling mine. Post and packaging a bit of a pain so you could try local ads.

Hi! I would take photos from all different angles - people are generall inerested in the state of the seat, cantle and pommel as well as the girth straps. So take photos which show the condition of the saddle.

With regard to measurements - does the saddle have a stated width stamped on the flap? To measure the seat you need to measure from the centre of the cantle to the button below the pommel. A lot of people want to know the distance between the D rings which is a useful measurement to quote. Hope this helps a bit!

Definately a front shot, showing the width, then all around, feature any damage as well. I wouldn't necessarily advise ebay as a selling place for saddles, granted I've bought from there in the past, they were bargains, and I was very pleased with them. But that's exactly it, it's a great place to buy, but you won't necessarily get the best price. The saddles i've sold in the past have been sold via a local riding club website and preloved. An extra bonus is the latter places are free!

I'm not aware of it having one, don't know how old it is hasn't had an awfull lot of use deffinatly over 6 years old. I can't say I know, but always thought it was a normal none change able, do you know if it's easy to check?
