I've had a bit of a clear out of stuff from the old horses that doesn't fit Dizz and have advertised online - Facebook, preloved etc and not sold any of it. I don't think I've priced anything particularly high but not letting it go for peanuts either. Everything is clean and ready to be used bar one turnout rug that is hardly dirty at all but not having any interest. I don't want to put it on eBay as can't be bothered with posting things out all over the place. I have rugs, numnahs, boots, stirrups and leatherwork, a couple bits are brand new!
So my question is, my local auctioneers are holding their first sale of year which usually attracts around 400 lots of saddlery and 40 or so horses. I have bought from here before but never sold and was considering whacking the stuff in the tack sale and taking what i can get for it as it is no use to me clogging up the cupboard under the stairs. Has anyone sold tack by auction before and is it worthwhile? I am also trying to sell my saddle and could stick that in as well but I'd put a reserve on it as I can't afford to let that go for nothing.
Before when I've been to tack sales it can be pretty hard to work out what size things are so I thought would it also be worthwhile making up some tags to attach to the items with details on, would this be a good idea?
