Selling Up - Advertise Separately ?

Well after thinking long and hard and its been a really really tough decision, I don't think i'm ever going to have the confidence to take my mare through her napping and then my other 2 there's also issues, first is a 4 year old WB x Welsh who due to her age needs a confidence giver/experienced rider (again not me) and the other is only 9 months old so at some stage will also require confident riding/experience.

So I find myself in the situation that i'm laying out hundreds each month to basically shovel s**t, feed, hay and look at 3 horses, I know its going to break my heart but if I really think about it practically I think it's time to throw the towel in.

My question is would you sell them all one by one, i,e, i've already put quirky mare on project horses, should I then sell the 4 year old, then the filly last, so that I don't have 3 horses advertised all at once, and look like a low level dealer or would you just suck eggs and stick all 3 on at once and see who goes first/last.

First of all I think its great yor tackeling the problem.
I would look at them all seperately, decide their strengths and advertise them seperately and aim them at different markets.
Depending how bad your mare is she may just need a more experienced rider and at this time of year there may be someone willing to take her on if that is the only issue.
Its really hard to sell youngstock at the moment so I wouldj ust look for the best home for your baby.

not an easy decision i'm sure do you still want to continue riding? if so why not advertise for a possible swap on your quirky mare? i know someone who did it and it's worked great for her.

I've been there, spent about 2 years paying for ponies and never rode, confidence was gone.
But it all changed, i dont have the same 2 but now have 3 and can't imagine life without horses.
For me, it was a case of getting the right ones and being at the right yard.
So before you sell, ask yourself if you really dont want horses anymore or if its a case of wrong ones.

No I really think it's time to give up, I only ride once/twice a month in anycase and wouldn't really miss that if I didn't do it, I do love having them to a certain degree but money isn't free flowing and I could use it much better elsewhere, have had some tears at the yard tonight just looking at my girls and thinking about parting with them, but time is a good healer and I know so long as I do my best for them and find them lovely homes I will get over it.

The only other decision I did make is to run the filly on, put her on grazing only at my friends yard and let her just mature out a bit until next year, I think she'll be more saleable as a 2 year old than a yearling.
