I rarely go to saddlery shops anymore, I don’t buy much or ever need much. But I actually do need a new numnah. Current PE one works fab in winter but is too hot and snug in summer. The one I have is just a £9.99 one but it doesn’t fit very well and boy is so short a square looks ridiculous on him. So I’m going specifically looking for a PE half square I’ve seen on Old Mills site… which means road trip. But also any time I go there I always buy a silly amount like new boots and new bridles

Send prayers and in lieu of prayers send ideas for things I don’t need

what is it about socks in tack shops - I always pick a pack up. The most recent purchase have donuts on - not even horse related and the are far to hot to wear in my riding boots!

I'm the same as you OP. I don't go to proper saddlery shops very often and tend to pick up anything I do need at second hand tack sales, but recently I've had a splurge and got both the boys new bridles, bits galore (not really sure why) and as many bits and bobs I could fit in my arms as I refused to get a basket. This was all spurred on by a saddler visit -obviously we needed matching 'stuff' for my 'just sat on' and freshly backed ponies!!!

Ignore the silly fat duo, I’m just back from a cruise and we both went a little mad at the buffet

And yes I opened my tack locker and realised I still haven’t got a bridle to put the 2” nose and I bought ages ago on (this one doesn’t come apart) so I DO need another bridle and also he’s so hot I might clip so I maybe need a half rain sheet/fly rug……

I bought 5 pairs online a few weeks ago. I didn't need 5 pairs but if I wanted the free postage I had to buy 5 pairs. So it obviously made sense (some how in my mad shopper brain)!

In a years' worth of it being my local, I have never managed to go into my local tack shop and spend less than £100 - and once I went in for only a hoof brush to go with an ointment I had so it should have been a £4 trip
