I was all set to send my rising 4 year old away to Jason Webb to be backed, but a bit of digging and there are a few things I am not 100% happy with. Still considering it; going back to talk to them about options.
So on my search for alternative options, I figured doing him at home is infact an option. I have backed ponies when I was younger, but since grown up, had a child and lost my balls a bit. So automatically figured I'd send him away. But I've realised there is a midway option - having him at home and getting someone in to help. It'd be more to "hold my hand" and give me the confidence that I am doing it right - more worried about doing something wrong and ruining him. Was more gung ho when I was younger and worried about any issues later. This would save me money even if I had someone in a few times a week. Not worried that it would probably take longer - am in no hurry at all.
So, what are the potential pit falls with this possible plan? And as I am still thinking about it - any recommendations for people to come to me or send him to? Am in Maidstone, Kent.
