Previous thread didn't get much response so thought I would ask the nighttime crowd...

Have you ever sent your horse for schooling? Good idea?

My trainer thinks she could really help me progress faster if she has Liv in for a couple of weeks and works with her as I will have a much easier job if she gets her a bit more established for me to then step up to her...

Trainer rode her yesterday and today she is like a different horse...

What do you think?

Definitely can help, my friend does this on her yard, horses go away different animals :) Cen help to establish things you are struggling to do yourself etc

Oh definately, otherwise it's the blind leading the blind: at least one of you needs to know what's supposed to be happening. Cheating? What posses people to think they can school a horse whithout knowing how to do it, or what the end product feels like?

Thing is she isn't blind - I am. She is very capable but definitely takes advantage so trainer thinks she needs some consistent reminding...

Think I am going to go for it - exciting!

I take horses in for schooling, but make sure that the owner comes along and has lessons on it too - no point in me being able to ride the horse if they can't, as it's their horse after all :)

If it's your trainer having the horse to school, what could be better?:D It also really helps when you are teaching to know exactly what issues the rider is dealing with (and what rider issues the horse is dealing with :))
