Try Hardwick Hall In ellesmere. Great facilities, and lovely people. I cant remember the weekly cost, but if you message them on FB they are quick to respond. As for timescales .. they are all different and it depends what you want them to be doing. Mine was away for 5 weeks, but i just wanted him hacking away

Thank you I will have a look! If I just get her hacking I’m content, as I’m a big hacker and I find a lot of my confidence in hacking over pressure of the school so it’s a great start for us :)

Slightly more central north but Adam Yates is highly recommended as is Sally Mitchel - both on facebook if you search for them. Both with lots of videos so you can see style and approach.

Weekly cost isn't cheap but this could be the most important 2 months of their life so best not to try can cut corners. £120-£150 a week I think. They both have waiting lists last time I asked.

I would go and have a look, have a feel for the horses there, tone and manner of the person ask lots of questions. It's a really tough decision ! I would go somewhere you can easily pop and see them a couple of times a week - not always scheduled visits

Pros - if you pick the right person they will set your horse on the right path for the rest of his life.
Cons - if you pick the wrong person you will have a devil of a job undoing someone's bodge and it will have cost you a tonne of cash to go backwards.

If the alternative is DIY then it totally depends on your own experience.

Both Sally and Adam do home visits - even more expensive to pay for the travel but you'd have a close eye on everything done.

No where near you but I paid £36 per day for breaking livery and my boy was there about 5 weeks. He went there untouched apart from the basics and I got to visit literally whenever with little notice and I rode him the last couple of days before he came home. I also got almost daily videos of his progress!

I was £110 per week, North Scotland 7 years ago.
I went with someone recommended to me plus 15 mins away meaning I could go see the progress regularly. There were no negatives for me personally. My pony was settled and videos and reports were given.
My pony had never been sat on but I did ride and lead so she was used to person above her, she'd had a saddle on and been taught to lunge before she went.
6 weeks later I had a pony that walk, trot, canter, popped over a pole on ground and hacked alone.
it was the best thing I ever did for her.
