Our mare had a occult-come-fibroblastic sarcoid on her eyelid which was due to be treated with BCG injections. The day before the BCG injections arrived with our vet she rubbed it and ripped the whole thing out at the root. It has been a month and there is no sign of regrowth into a fibroblastic sarcoid and therefore it can't be treated with the BCG as they need a 'mass' to inject.

There is a shelf life on the BCG which now means we will probably not need to use it before it goes out of date. The BCG is still in it's sealed packet and we are waiting for the veterinary surgery to get in touch with Liverpool to see if we can return the drugs for at least a partial refund. Has anyone else been in a similar situation and been able to recover at least some of the cost? Said sarcoid is not under insurance due to a previous eye trauma so if we can get some money back it would be brilliant.
