Hi, can anyone recommend a supplement for Seniors? My oldie is 28 and getting a bit stiff with the cold weather. Tried TopSpec, didn't do well on that. Naff Pink Senior is great but very pricey so looking for something similar. Worst case he can stay on pink but always open to ideas
Thanks

Another vote for linseed, I have two oldies, 20+ yrs, both are in superb condition and the mare would love to join the hunt, with or without a rider, she gets so excited on hearing the hounds or horn.
Equally, try Tumeric and black pepper for stiffness, brilliant stuff, saved my mare from being pts

Im seeing the first signs of stiffness in my 24 year old..how do you buy and feed both the linseed and tumeric? Sounds like a silly question i know but years ago we boiled linseed..and can you buy larger quantaties of tumeric than the small containers in the supermarket?

I'm also in favour of micronised linseed. However why else do you feed your oldies with it - mine was on top spec as well, but it made no difference so I put him on ready mash as well last year. Not sure this year apart from the linseed :/

Thanks all for the suggestions, I'll make a note so I can try them. I already have Linseed and does wonders for his coat. I decided to get some Turmeric over the weekend and will try it for the stiffness first and go from there. Last winter he was on Ultimate Oil and Ready Mash as we took him on in terrible condition and built him up from a body score of 1 (vet scored him) to a healthy weight which he has maintained over the summer but this winter I am worried about making him overweight on Mash, will have to see how he goes and have the mash at the ready just in case :)

AngieandBen, how much salt do you give daily?
