separation Anxiety

Help need to split two horses that are seriously in love! Mine is a fatty, his cob best friend is lovely and slim. We are in six acres of summer pasture with two other horses. Too much for my boy. If I remoove him Mr Cob jumps out of field or trashes fencing to follow electric not an option. Any ideas?

Would it be possible to leave them together but put a muzzle on the fatty?

if you dont need the seperated for any other reason than the grass intake then i would suggest a muzzle as well. I used to have to do this as i had one mare who was prone to putting on weight and getting laminitis and one who always verged on underweight. I found it worked quite well.
