My horse is driving me to despair. He has survived the winter with his little friend in a small barren field so the larger field would be nice and green for the summer. Just started to put him in new field (100 yrds from other one) and he has spent two days pacing up and down wanting to go back to the other completely bare patch! He has got like this before when moving fields at previous yard, but I am really at a loss on how to overcome this one as the distance is nothing at all!

He could always see his stable from the other patch, and he can now, if not quite as well. He is 24 (nearly) and I have wondered if he is getting senile. I did suggest this to a vet some time ago but got told it was only owners who got senile - Ha Ha.

Any ideas would be welcome.

Thanks

Oh he is already on Magic

how long is he out for? some horses just don't like being out all day, though thankfully all mine seemed to have changed their tune now the sun is out and I am not seeing mine yelling to come in after only being out for a couple of hours..

I have nothing useful to offer other than sympathy!
My Tb won't stable any other time other than winter - and then only when everyone else is in. Can't bring him in alone and goes mad if anyone goes out before him! He will happily stay in the field alone providing he can see others.
Friends horse who we share with is the opposite. He will stable happily alone but will not stay in the field alone - he will jump out or run through fences! Makes life so complicated!
