Rabatsa was an October foal. She grew taller than her mother but was backward compared to the same year foals born April/May but well advanced compared to the following years foals.

As long as the mare gets the correct nutrition for milk production all should be well.

Yes, purchased as a yearling. Has grown taller than ever expected and he left his brain behind for a while. Now about to turn 6. Didn't start him till he was 4 1/2, due to lack of physical and mental maturity. Had many breaks for growth during training. Not sure this is all down to being Sept born. Could just be a tall young horse taking his time. Although I wonder if they miss out on the vital grass time to play as a foal. Born and within a few months possibly standing in due to weather, rugs? and the inevitable hard feed.

I had an October one, left out with mum 24/7 and field shelter until weaning. I left together a bit longer before weaning but that was due to circumstances at the time.. Had no issues, he was PTS at 29 years.

I've had 2 September foals, no difference at all with growth, first one started under saddle as he approached 4, he's still a dude but has a gentle hacking life
The other still lives here, she's been sat on and had a gentle wander down the lane but I fully expect her not to be behind

I have an August baby, he's just turned 4 but still very much looks like a 3 year old - he's a late maturing breed anyway so I'm assuming he will catch up in his own time!
