Gosh AE, hope you aren't too whiplashed this morning.

This weekend BH has done a couple of hacks and a play in the school. We were having a play at reining back without the rein. I think 2nd go, he got it. This was first day, I reckon he will get it properly in time.

The jump sneaked up a fraction. Can't get it much bigger until his canter has some substance. He is lovely but very placid and a slow developer!

Well I ride my new horse at last !

He went lame in the first week of having him, then lost a shoe and then developed a cough. After a weeks holiday for me I rode him yesterday in company and today on our own. And he was fab 😊

So hopefully we’ve put our issues behind us and I can start doing things with him.

Hi thanks to those asking after me post-face-plant. I'm fine. Sore but fine. Rode again today to put any demons to rest before they could get a foothold in my mind. (Instructtor would not let me yesterday which was fair enough but I felt I needed to get our there again ASAP). Lottie was ace. Just did a few easy flowing lines on the 80 acres and then a SJ course. She feels full of beans and very positive and confident so no lasting ill effects from her face plant either. We can both have a week off to let any soreness settle. Then crack on.

my little pony danced her socks off yesterday! didn’t get through to the evening but she was an absolute gem, wasn’t remotely phased by all the screaming and shouting and even got told she “looks sensible” by the judge!! i told her not to get used to that one because nobody else will ever tell her that🤣 i honestly couldn’t fault her though, i thought she’d take it in her stride but she had us all shocked by how well she behaved😂

didn’t hack lily out but i did go to a horsey car boot, and got little madam a fylde bridle for a tenner, and a rambo duo vari-layer turnout for £40!!

followed by a late night cinema trip to watch the nun 2 - enjoyed it but would’ve preferred seeing it in daylight🫣

We had another top 10 finish in AM98 yesterday to finish 4th overall individually 🥳

He was much more settled yesterday but started flagging towards the end of the test, which is understandable. He still managed to score a smidge under 67% so he’s been super consistent as we scored 67.18% in AM91.

Very pleased as I’ve not had him a year yet and this is the biggest show we’ve been to.

Took my old boy to a local show on Sunday. Have only tried showing him once previously (in a ridden class a few years ago) and he was just way too excitable so I didn’t bother again 🤣, but decided I’d see what he was like in the inhand (and because baby spots has had the majority of the outings this year)
Safe to say he absolutely smashed it. 3 x 1sts, a 2nd and Inhand Champion!
Time for a career change at 19 years old?
