My horse has acquired an infection in her bursa as a result of a serious laceration to her hock. All clear for 5 weeks, then 3 legged lame with new infection last week. Excellent vets are flushing daily with antibiotics and catheter. 7 days later and infection not yet gone but horse now walking out reasonably well and weight-bearing more. Still in hospital. Anyone with experience of this? Any positive outcomes? How long did treatment last? Chances of defeating the bacteria?
