Seriously clingy dog!

My sister's JRT Poppy has always been a glutton for attention (once you've started rubbing her belly, you are NOT allowed to stop!

), but recently she's getting even clingier than usual. She just sits by you the whole time, nudging your hand and trying to make you pay attention to her, and she's even started licking people which she has never done before.

She mostly does it to Nicole, my sister, but she did it to me last night as well. She licks anywhere - your hand, your neck, your leg - it's a bit icky.

Any idea why she's become so clingy all of a sudden? I'm wondering if it's because Nicole is now at home most of the time because she's finished her GCSEs, so maybe Poppy has just gotten used to having people around to fuss her 24/7? She's such a weird little dog...

You just choose not to because it's cute or she's a pain if you do stop. If she's sitting next to you put her firmly on the floor and say NO and keep repeating it until she gets the idea. Or you could just indulge her! She's like a child, or even an adult, who's found out that if she keeps on she gets what she wants.....and we all need our bellies rubbed now and then
