5 acre field split into 3- Floods at the drop of a hat and is rock hard and very cracked the rest of the time.
3 stables that heat up like ovens so unuseable in warm weather- Also prone so getting VERY wet if it rains/snows (pretty much cant be used unless its a cool calm day in which case horses are happy out anyway)

Complete with residents.....

14.3 half blind PC pony who cant be ridden by children (or adults who value their life) impossible to catch- requires daily medication so HAS to be caught- very pretty though!

15.2 Slightly mad TB who refuses to be rehomed and is lovingly known as the boomerang to my amused friends. Severe seperation anxiety means i have the nutter til he dies and although very accident prone always manages to keep bouncing back- (complete with his sharer who is there in my face every time i blink) Currently sporting a "nearly" destroyed knee.

Little Shitland- Lives just escape, loves to make a fool of me by shooting thru any slightly open gate to tear up and down the lane almost letting me catch him, laughing then running off again, Returning quietly to his friends as soon as any walkers along the lane are out of sight (after having had a goog giggle at the funny little pony) comes with nasty bloody sarcoid

My big baby- who due to the above i just get to look at from time to time (often just at the point he pulls another fencing post clean out of the ground as he's a compulsive windsucker/destroyer of anything i own)

I actually want to lock the gate get in my car and drive away its getting so stressfull. I cant remember the last time i went down there and enjoyed my "hobby"

Im sure if i did this my car would break down by the time i reached the end of the lane....

Well, thank you for your kind offer but I think I'll pass :D I do have a tow rope if you really want to get away :)

You do seem to have a lot on your plate so no wonder you are feeling sorry for yourself. I think the secret is to stick to just one horse, something I just don't seem to manage.

lol! OMG that sounds very stressful! is the yard rented or owned? is there any way you could change the stables so they are more habitable? do some training with the "shitland" is he broken? can he be used as a child's pony? might be abit calmer if he was worked? the PC pony sounds lovely! can you have a "polite word" with your TB's sharer and tell her to back off abit... give you abit of breathing space! do you have the room and money for a nice sound all rounder? something you can take out for a nice hack will you sanity returns!
lol well done for sticking by these horses that would prob otherwise be PTS x

oh and I forgot to say... put up electric fencing to stop your crib biter destroying the fences!

Haha! Sorry, but your post did make me laugh. I have two useless horses too. Okay, my stables are usable, but my fields are typical clay mud holes when it's wet, and hard as rock when it's dry. Your horses are so lucky to have you!

You made me laugh - sorry!

I feel your pain with clay soil and wooden stables, but I find that if I take the perspex out of the windows of mine it does create a bit of a through draft which makes them bearable in summer. Obviously replace them in winter!

Can you line them with insulation board to make them bearable?

On the other hand, you could buy a lottery ticket ...........

I feel your pain. The ground is wavering between cracked rock hard and mudbath here, which is driving me nuts without a school. I'm slightly over-stocked on the land really, so stortage of grass too (not a terrible thing for natives/cobs!) which makes the place look a bit dire and means I'm still feeding haylage. I have three horses and 2 stables, so the highlands have to share  But the cob's stable has a mud floor which just does NOT work  I have nettles growing up under my fencing which it's been too wet to attack and are on the point of shorting the fence. The exhaust is falling off my land rover and I've mysteriously lost the key to the field gate so I can neither get the pony out to hack nor get the trailer out to take the pony to dressage on Sunday. This week is in a serious downhill spiral! I do quite like my beasts though.

It's got to get better sooner or later, right? :D

This possibly isnt the time to mention that the pony is moving tomorrow and I will have access to a lovely arena and field with a sj course and a set of white boards in .

I think they are all being monkeys, mine jumped a 5 bar gate the other day in protest and had decided he would rather not load any more

Just don't try to stick your head in the oven - the way things are going the door would probably just fall off....

This weather properly sucks. I have nothing else to say other than add my hopes that things improve soon!

Dafthoss I actually hate you. Tfc would spank me if I called you all the names I am thinking of now

:D You could always bring yours down ;) and its not on clay so rides much better than where you are .

Can I move into your place too? I am so fed up with this place. I hate living in chavland

oh no wait, I can't even do that, ponies are locked in till I find the ************ key

We are on clay too so feel your pain, but now have a lovely arena (and no money!!!!). Just a shame that out of our 3 horses only my daughters can be ridden and I dont fancy my rusty horsmanship skills on a very large, very green, very nappy young ISH. The two that cant be ridden are costing me a fortune in vet bills and, due to their age are only insured for injury so its going to be a long, long time before I get my dream horse.

Clay soil, over stocked (on the tiny percentage of grass I am allowed that is actually grazeable) still feeding haylage, have a half finish arena this sits covered in caravans, rubbish and rusting machinery...2 stables you can't swing a hamster in, a field shelter that is actually reasonable (I went out and bought it myself so it would be ;) ) and another 20x10 field shelter lying in pieces waiting to be put together again

I feel your pain and I often think all this stress is likely to shorten my life considerably!!

Love a good moan its almost as good as the doughnut I just ate :)

Glad to have amused a few of you!
No chance of finding new land/livery unless we only had windsucker and pc pony as the TB like i say was "rehomed" and the first time i actually thought he was gone for good (and happy i'd never just ditch him!) like i also say its become very apparent he's going no where, the Shitland has to be there to keep him company or even when i finally am able to ride windsucker and start hacking with my daughter on pc pony- who WILL come good one day again we'd never be able to as TB would kill himself....
No way i can afford to keep 4 any where else (another issue would be TB is the quietest he's EVER been hence the reason of giving up on him previously)
I pay £100 a month for all but have paid a fortune clearing the land, fencing the whole fields, forming a yard the area and the stables belong to me so id probably have the same issue where ever they were?!
TBH sharer is great- willing to do anything and all of them, not that ive let her but nice to know if im ill or something i could call on her, its just 3 days have turned into 7 and she brings friends with her to keep her company.
AAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH
On the plus side my lovely bosses wife is going to come and help with PC pony be supplying the viciousness we now think he may need as my kindly approach whilst working to an extent needs to be stepped up but he's our baby and i cant be too hard on him :-/
