I went to see my gp about the chronic back pain i have had for 3 weeks now and she informed me that until i have seen the physio i can't ride. The wait for the physio is about 6-8 weeks!

agreed. Private.

Or ride anyway. Clearly GP doesn't think it's life threatening or they'd be making sure you jumped the queue. (don't really, this is what I would do, I'm not actually advising you to go against GP orders!)

This is what I would do :o
But then again mybe not such a good idea. I got back on a horse 4 months after breaking my hip very badly, when the docs told me not to even walk without crutches for 6  I'm paying for it now though. I walk with a limp and can not run at all :( The things we do for our love of horses

(((((((((((((hugs))))))))))) to you. I hope you get your back sorted soon. x

Go private to a chiro. I gagged about with pain killers/waiting lists/physios for 5 yrs for a whiplash injury to no advail. Saved up and went private to chiro. Best thing ever. X

2nd going private. Costs around £35.

As for ignoring your GP - if it doesn't hurt to ride, fine. But if it does - then don't.

I wouldn't go near a chiro if you paid me!

Funny how people have different experiences of different fields isn't it? :)

Oh my, my bloody back hurts like hell at the moment! I think it's due to riding, Darnt go to see docs just yet as have a show in 2 weeks!
