after my last near mishap of buying a new horse. I have been riding a 14.2hh jumping pony for the last 4 days (think head groom felt sorry for me!) been in the school for 3 days he is perfectly schooled and a joy to ride. This morning i hacked him out with a freind and he was wonderfull - we only walked - went along the stubble fields and along a track next to the busy A14 - there were no big lorries as it was sunday but lots of fast cars and motorbikes and he didnt even look - went under the bridge under A14 and on a big open green then back - he didnt pull, spook, or attempt to trot - he was just perfect!!!
Great! I hear you all cry - but as usual its not that simple! He is 15 years old and the owner wants serious money for him - which to an up and coming child who wants to do dressage and jumping he would be worth the money - but to do pre lim hack and do some pleasure rides at 15 he is more than i would be prepared to pay.
The owner is back tomorrow so im going to lay my cards on the table and say that i could/would only pay half the money they want - or maybe they would consider loaning him to me (dont think that would be likely!) or maybe could i ride him till they sell him.
Bit of a pointless post really but it helps to write it all out and see what responses i get - thanks x
