I posted yesterday about our poor retriever, with cysts, etc. ... I am now thinking that the bi**h that sold her to my 11 yr old son, knew she had them and didnt want the expense. He is forever on donedeal looking at dogs, and if he had his way, we would have 20+ dogs, easily. He saw her, and said, mam, she's sad, we need to get her, so I drove three hrs to get her and the same back. I have no regrets about getting her, sick or not, but how could anyone put a dog up for sale, knowing they had health issues, knowing she was going to a home with kids, that would get attached straight away. they are sad people!!!

Sounds like the owners saw you coming ....you drove 3 hours to see a dog for sale on the internet becuase your son thought she looked sad ! Didn't you check she was ok ? Ask any questions ?

This is the point about getting dogs vetted, I have said it time and time again. Vets bills can cost more than horses easily.

how long have you had her?

Oh gawd, sorry but I wouldn't purchase a yo-yo off Donedeal :o

You have her now and she is safe, but it does have a bit of a reputation, there are some real shysters on that site, I cannot even look at that site any more, it does nothing for my blood pressure.

Our Lancashire Heeler group has just rescued 2 terriers that are LHs from Donedeal, they are 2yrs spayed bitches and they were free to a good home because the owner has bought another dog. Its hard to believe that people can treat any animal as an old sofa and can discard them without a second thought.

These 2 lovely girls stank to high heaven and looks like they have never been on a lead, they are now bathed and staying in foster care until they come over on Monday with a greyhound transporter.

I've only ever had puppies so never had a dog with a 'known' pre-existing condition and my first act after a vet health check visit is to get insurance.

You take a risk looking at sites like that or any site that is just random.

i have to ask what your 11yr old son is doing buying a dog?

this.

and what other posters have said on this thread.
Srsly, tell your son to stay off Donedeal in future. You cant rescue every dog you see that 'looks sad' or you'd need kennels the size of a small country estate.

harsh though it sounds you just have to be practical.
