Hi,
My horse came in lame and in shock on tuesday night. Shes a tough old boot and seemed to be in serious pain so i called the vet out straight away.
First of all the vert thought she may have broken her pastern or part of the fetlock.
We x-rayed the next morning (after a night in with the biggest support bandage on i had ever seen) and luckily no break!
BUT she had sprained the fetlock, badly bruised the bone and has some damage to the sesamoid ligaments.
IN ten days (boxrest with support bandage on) we will xray again and scan her to see whats going on.
Id be really greatfull to hear of anyones experiences of this injury and what the outcome was?
If shes out of action for a long time i may put her in foal.
thanks lots!
