Hi

I desperately need to set up a transactional web site for my retail business.

I am happy to pay for professional help - but everyone has told me it will cost a fortune - like £4,000+ to set up!!!!

Does anyone know any simple to use programmes I can use? or someone who could help me at a reasonable price?

I am good with computers, but have no idea where/how to get started!!

I thought I'd ask as so many of you have wonderful web sites, and may have experience of how to make transactional ones.

many thanks.

There are loads of software houses offering packages where you can build your own shopping website. If you type the words 'ecommerce website' into google you will see heaps of them. One on the right hand side comes up with £19.99 per month! However, if you dont already accept Credit Cards you will need to set up a separate Merchant account with your Bank or one of the other providers as these website packages just offer the secure site etc and not the actual credit card processing)

I have over 6 years experience designing websites from scratch and am on a degree course at the moment at University.

I can set up an e-commerce site easily for you for a one off payment including hosting and domain name.

PM me if you want more details (by the way it won't be £4k, I'd appreciate the experience to add to my portfolio
