Hello All,

I'm currently in the process of purchasing our own land and after some tips and advice.
It has planning for the stables which are in process and planning for a 60x20 school.
Can anyone recommend an arena company in the south east? Good or bad experiences?

Also we don't have planning at the moment to create storage building.
It does have one shipping container on site which we will be using but will be needing somewhere for storage of hay etc.
I was looking at the mobile hay barns to avoid the planning, anyone have any recommadations or other ideas we could use for storage areas until planning/funds allowed us to build a permenment fixture?

Any other DIY/money saving ideas/experiences anyone has please share!

Thank you.

I had a 20 x 60 arena built last year by a guy who works on his own but was recommended by Day Aggregates. He was fantastic - fast and reliable and the arena is fab. I'm in Kent. He is, I believe, based in Sussex.

Depends how quickly you want it though, as he is very busy. PM if you want his details.

In terms of storage, mobile field shelters are your friend. I got mine from Foster Fencing - also reliable and good quality.

A yard near me has an excellent funky arched store for their hay, it looks like its made of canvas or something similar, it looks a bit like this but sturdier (American site but you get the idea..) http://www.menards.com/main/c-14005.htm

They have had it some years and its stood up to all the weather thrown at it

Needs planning as a fixed structure! Otherwise they are very mobile usually in proportion to the wind speed!

I am not saying you are wrong especially given the height of the thing (would need checking) but I don't see how it can be classed as fixed when this is essentially a tent that could be unpegged at each corner and moved by four people

Thank you for the information, will PM for the guys details- it will be good to have a few opitions and prices!!

I think we will be looking at the mobile shelters route for storage, although they don't seem any cheaper then what it would be to put up a fixed hay store but I suppose your saving on planning costs!
