Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone had any tips - new horse arrives tomorrow and I want him to be as happy as possible!

How do you ensure your horse is as settled and happy as possible when they move? ?

TIA x

try and keep in a similar routine, if he is out 24/7, continue if he is out at night and in during the day or the other way round its worth keeping them the same at least for the first few weeks if possible. keep his feed the same and if he is on hay dont immediately change to hayledge . i realise it is dependent on yard rules so you have to do the best you can. when he arrives let him have a look round in hand, maybe give him a bit of a groom and then put him in stable or field ....i would ride the next morning with company to get him used to the area nice and quietly. if he is a lively type put his tack on first and lunge for 10 mins , then get on and ride for a little while in the school and then hack out.....good luck, photos please when you get time...:)
